Questions We Get Asked a Lot

It depends on the size of the job, how much preparation it needs and what condition the surfaces are in. Estimates are free and there are four ways to get one — we can come out, work from photos you send, do a video call, or talk it through on the phone.

Usually within the week. This is a one-man business, which means nobody here is juggling four crews — most weeks we can give you a date within a few days of the estimate.

A three-bedroom interior takes about a week. A full exterior takes three to four days. You get a breakdown with the estimate, including the day we expect to finish.

The owner, and on bigger jobs some family members. Nothing is subcontracted out, and the owner is on the job every day himself.

Yes. We would rather work in an empty house, but most jobs are lived in and it is not a problem. We work around you and ask before leaving gear set up overnight.

Sherwin-Williams. If you want an opinion on colour or finish, ask and you will get one.

On a big job, ten percent. The balance is due the day the work is finished, and you get the invoice before we leave.

Yes. California contractor licence CSLB #1137297, classification C-33, Painting and Decorating, valid through May 2027 — you can check it yourself at cslb.ca.gov. The business is also bonded with Western Surety Company.

We work out of Atwater and cover Merced and Stanislaus counties — and further for the right job. The one exception is homes up in the high mountains. Whether there is a travel charge depends on the size of the job.

We come back and put it right. That is what the guarantee means here — if something we painted fails, you call and we fix it. We do not put a number of years on it, because the point is that you can call, not that you check a date first.
