Exterior
Front door refinishing or staining
The first thing anyone touches. A day of work that changes how the whole front of the house reads.
A front door takes direct sun, gets touched by every person who comes to the house, and is the one piece of the exterior anyone looks at closely. It is also small enough to be a genuinely cheap improvement.
Stained or painted
A solid wood door with grain worth showing gets stripped back, stained and sealed. A door that has been painted before, or one where the wood is not the point, gets prepped and painted properly instead. We will tell you which yours is.
Why they fail
West and south-facing doors in this valley take punishment year round. A clear finish with no UV protection will chalk off in a couple of summers. That is a product choice, not a workmanship one, and it is worth getting right.
Garage doors and shutters
Same trip. A repainted front door beside a sun-bleached garage door draws attention to the garage door.
